Matt Shelton is an attorney who specializes in civil litigation, employment law, and cannabis law. He is admitted in all Oklahoma state courts and the United States District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma. Matt is a Board Member of the OBA's Young Lawyer's Division and is the leader for the membership and new attorney orientation committees.
MISSOURI NATIVE
- Matt was born and raised in Kansas City, MO. He moved to OKC for law school 4 years ago. Of he adopted home, he says "OKC has been grown on me and I am proud to call it my new home." Matt went to the University of Missouri - Kansas City (UMKC, home of the Roos) for undergrad. He comes from a family of firefighters.
SPORTS FANATIC
- Matt is a huge professional sports fan of the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, and Thunder fan. Since he is a neutral fan of both OU Sooners and the OSU Cowboys he enjoys going to both of their footballs games. He plays on two sand volleyball teams and an indoor soccer team weekly.
CAREER GOALS
- Matt's goal for his career is to gain as much knowledge in the law to be able to help anyone with any legal issue that comes his way - like a one stop shop, or all-in-one. From litigating to doing business transactions to estate planning, etc. His goal in life is to travel and see as many different places as he can see.
HOBBIES / SOCIAL LIFE
- Matt's hobbies include golfing, fly fishing, and getting to the mountains as much as possible to ski. He cannot decide if he loves the beach or the mountains more. He likes to get out and see live music as much as possible. He can talk about movies all day. He is also a huge space exploration / astronomy nerd.
